City of Edmonton: March 2009

Downtown Edmonton, from across the Saskatchewan River

The Impressive Legislative Buildings, lit up at night.

This city is a people-friendly place, and its Government and University population give it a cultural bias. The oil people, and others, give it a lively contact with the oil industry, the Canadian North, and the outside world. It is an interesting mix of the old and the new, and a good place to live.

Here, one can enjoy city life, and all that has to offer, and in fifteen minutes get out into farmland to enjoy the "big sky" of Alberta. It is a four-hour drive to Jasper and the Rocky Mountains where there is skiing, hiking, and all the other activities enjoyed in the wilds. Edmonton offers the best of both worlds, the city and the outdoors life.
