Love is All You Need: Monday, June 3 2013
Opening in modern Denmark, the scene moves to Italy, and the lush countryside of Sorrento, on the beautiful Amalfi Coast. A feast for the eyes, it leaves one feeling as if having been on holiday.
Karen commented that she thought the film was so pleasant because the main characters are such good people. I agreed with her. Both direct and honest, with themselves and the world around them, there is no nastiness in either Phillip or Ida. They accept life, and the people around them, as they are, with non-judgmental attitudes. They aren't trying to control anyone, or trying to change them. They each have secure boundaries, and know what they want in life. They are ordinary people, living an ordinary love story. But this is not really ordinary!
Pierce Brosnan is even more gorgeous in maturity than he has always been. What lovely "eye candy", along with such a pleasant personality! What's not to like!
